My Ember Card

As ordination and admission to Holy Orders approaches at Petertide it’s traditional to send Ember Cards, asking people to pray for the candidate, their family, the priest they will be working and training with in their new churches, and the people of those churches.

I’m mainly sending my Ember Card virtually via this blog in a small attempt to reduce the pressure on the environment. Here it is:

Please pray for all to be admitted
to Holy Orders this Petertide,
among them

Anthony Richard Bennett

to be made Deacon by

The Rt Revd Nick Baines,
Bishop of Leeds

in Wakefield Cathedral
at 3:00 pm
on Saturday 29th June 2019

Please also pray for Anthony’s family,
for the Revd Peter Mullins,
and the people of the benefice of
Haworth and Cross Roads-cum-Lees,
where Anthony is to serve
as Assistant Curate.

Keighley CAP Life Skills

Our second Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Life Skills Course started with a taster session at midday on Thursday 24th January, at the Keith Thompson Centre (KTC) in Braithwaite, Keighley.

Our last course was excellent fun! We learned how to stay healthy and make our money go further. The eight-week course is designed to give you confidence and decision-making skills to live well on a budget. We start with lunch every Thursday, and some weeks we have social events too.

Further info on the course can be found at:

Or, drop me an email:

With blessings, Anthony.
